Description

We’ll make you a broadcast journalist, at our six day intensive bootcamps inpartnership with Bauer Media where our single mission is to get you a job as a broadcast journalist!

Whether you are a print journalist wanting to acquire broadcast skills, a recent graduate, or you simply want to follow the dream to a brand-new career the Bauer Journalism Bootcamps will give you all the skills you need to make it in the competitive world of broadcast journalism.

These journalism courses reflect my commitment to find and develop the best talent for Bauer Media.

Each course is a stepping-stone into the industry to develop journalism skills and learn from leading professionals.

I’ve recruited some of Bauer’s best journalists from these courses, and I look forward to seeing who walks through the door next’.

– John Pickford, Editor in Chief, Bauer Radio News

These six-day courses include the best elements of the award winning three-month Bauer Journalism Programme. Based initially at the new NBS studios in the heart of Liverpool and then at one of Bauer’s market leading radio stations, you will be constantly mentored during the process and taught all the latest techniques by current industry professionals.

In addition to acquiring all the necessary basic journalism skills, you will learn to write hard hitting copy, get a grounding in broadcast law, read the news, record and edit your own documentary, create podcasts, and be able to create compelling social media content. We will also invest time getting your voice to professional broadcast standards.

Over the course of each intense, practical and demanding week, we’ll get you fit for purpose. With constant practice and coaching you’ll get the best possible preparation for a career in broadcast journalism. Our graduates have gone on to work at Bauer, CNN, ITV, BBC, LBC and market leading stations across the UK.

During the programme you will build up a comprehensive body of work, create a compelling CV and be ready to impress and as part of the Professional Week you’ll also get a guaranteed job interview!

After successfully completing each Bootcamp you’ll get a Bauer/ NBS, Bronze, Silver and Gold Broadcast Journalism Skills certificate when you’ve completed the Basic, Advanced and Professional Bootcamps and hopefully a new career.
