Event description

Description

An extra ordinary two-day festival happening on 21 April 2017 at Nehru Centre, 29 April at Kobi Nazrul Centre and 30 April at Rich Mix in East London featuring the ecstasy of the heart-arresting, unmarred melody that evolved from the soil of Bengal.

The festival showcases the ecstatic performances of Bengali Baul & Vaishnav music by local Baul groups and prominent individual performers along with the brief discussion on these two major philosophical movements of Indian sub-continent that evolved from Hindu and Muslim (Sufi) faith and had shaken the music, literature, art of the whole region.

The event is curated by the poet T M Ahmed Kaysher.
