Description

An extra ordinary three-day festival happening on 21 April 2017 at Nehru Centre, 29April at Kobi Nazrul Centre and 30 April at Rich Mix in East London featuring the ecstasy of the heart-arresting, unmarred melody that evolved from the soil of Bengal.

The festival, supported by the Tower Hamlets Council, showcases the ecstatic performances of Bengali Baul & Vaishnav music by local Baul groups and prominent individual performers along with the brief discussion on these two major philosophical movements of Indian sub-continent that evolved from Hindu and Muslim (Sufi) faith and had shaken the music, literature, art of the whole region.

The festival is curated by the poet T M Ahmed Kaysher.
