Would you know a good prediction if you saw one?

Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) is gaining momentum in modern drug discovery. Nevertheless, the complexity of modelled systems often results in incomplete models supported by limited or imprecise data. This results in difficulties when assessing whether a prediction is legitimate or not. Bayesian Analysis provides a consistent methodology to analyse uncertainty associated with specific models and predictions.

The aim of this two days workshop is to give researchers awareness and confidence in using basic tools of Bayesian Analysis in QSP modelling.The workshop will cover fundamental building blocks, important probabilistic models, applications to a range of simple problems, and consideration of how to apply the techniques to complex problems. A combination of learning material and hands on experience will be provided (participants are required to bring their own laptop with required software pre-installed, details to follow).

Prof Jonathan Carter and Dr Giovanni Di Veroli will be leading this event which is funded by the QSP UK network and hosted by AstraZeneca. Accommodation, refreshments and meals will be provided. The event is designed for researchers in the biomedical and drug discovery field and is open to both academic and industrial participants. Participants are expected to be familiar with modelling and have some background in Mathematics and Statistics.
