Some background…

The BBC is offering 45 paid apprenticeships in local radio stations across the UK as part of a pledge to open up the BBC to people from a wide range of backgrounds. Applications are open 14 April - 12 May 2014 and successful candidates will work and train as Apprentice Broadcast Assistants in local radio stations in England, Wales or Channel Islands and Apprentice Content Assistants in Scotland and N. Ireland.

We are looking for applicants who are:

  • non-graduates.
  • creative, resilient, hard-working and passionate about what they do, with a mature outlook.
  • news aware, and interested in current affairs.
  • knowledgeable about their local area and interested in local news.

Other events will be held elsewhere in the UK later in April.

Please note that we WILL NOT be discussing any other BBC apprenticeship schemes at this session as we have separate events planned for these later in the season.
