You are invited to attend a Bucks, Berks & Oxon (BBO) PA Network networking event on Thurs, Nov 21st at Macdonald Randolph Hotel in Oxford with our speaker, Andrew Jardine, General Manager of the Institute of Administrative Management (www.instam.org). The topic for the evening is CONFLICT MANAGEMENT.

ABOUT THE TOPIC - CONFLICT MANAGEMENT


This session is an interactive and thought-provoking exploration into managing the stress and emotions surrounding conflict at work. Depending on the length of the session attendees will learn:

• How conflict affects the mind and body
• How to break out of the Stimulus-Response trap and take control
• Ways to view conflict differently
• Five responses to conflict

The IAM is a UK-based professional body and international membership organisation; they champion administrators and managers, and provide services and benefits to support their members’ career and professional development.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER - ANDREW JARDINE


As the General Manager of the Institute of Administrative Management I have a simple purpose to champion the fields of administration and management and to provide services and benefits that support my members’ professional and career development. I started in an administrative role in the Civil Service and have also worked as a management accountant and am a qualified management services practitioner. I eventually realised my passion is for training and staff development, and I qualified through the CIPD and have since delivered to all levels of management in the public, private and voluntary sectors over the course of the last 20+ years. I love that my current role lets me work with organisations and individuals who share my dedication for raising professional standards and helping others to learn new skills and develop existing ones.

FAQS & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION


What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Beaumont St, Oxford, OX1 2LN - You will need to park in Oxford City Centre. More details regarding the car park will follow.

What are the detailed timings for the event? Please arrive anytime between 5:30pm and 6:30pm. Time allocated for ‘informal networking’ will be very relaxed. Macdonald Rndolph show rounds will be organised at the beginning of the evening.

Will I be able to get a soft drink or a glass of wine? Macdonald Randolph are very generously providing a welcome drink and canapes at the beginning of the event. The hotel will also have a cash bar open all evening during the event should you wish to purchase further drinks.

Do I need to bring a printed ticket to the event? No, a printed ticket is not required. We will export the registered attendee list from EventBrite and name badges will be handed out on arrival.

Why is there a ticket charge? Please note that all monies collected from the ticket charge will be going towards recovering the network's running costs (Eventbrite charge, website build and hosting, domain name, banner & printing costs etc...).

Will we be using social media? Yes! We encourage live use of social media - we need to spread the word about the network! Please use the hashtag #BBOPAs.
