The Business Continuity Institute is headed to the Gold Coast!

Join us for 3 amazing speakers in one incredible location

The City of Gold Coast is a large, high-profile, and vibrant city that has played host to many different events, including the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

You are invited to an engaging and educational afternoon to learn how to prepare your business against the potential adverse impacts of major events.

The afternoon’s presenters were heavily involved in resilience-building leading into GC2018, and will share their experiences of preparing for the Games from different and unique angles. From this event you can take away the valuable lesson’s learned.

Tracie West-Booth - City of Gold Coast -Corporate Risk and Business Continuity Coordinator

Responsible for the business continuity planning and delivery for the City of Gold Coast, considering the unique role the Council had in this event, while also having to maintain all other Council services. Tracie will focus on the major threats to business continuity of the organisation during the Games and how the organisation planned, prepared and delivered business continuity.

Bree Fournier - Program Support and Project Officer, Disaster and Emergency Management, Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service

Responsible for the implementation of a holistic Business Continuity Management System within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, Bree will discuss how Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service prepared for GC2018 to prevent/minimise disruptions to health care services under the Designated Hospital Agreement for Commonwealth Games constituents and the Gold Coast Community during Games time.

Lisa Cameron de Vries - Phoenix Resilience Technical Director

Having developed the capability for the CoGC Disaster Management Unit in relation to building threat awareness/threat monitoring, threat/impact reporting, and preparedness/response planning. Lisa will discuss How GC businesses can identify/monitor threats (especially in the lead-up to major events) and where to find important information and how that information should inform decision making and preparedness planning.

To round out this session our 3 great speakers will join us for a panel discussion. Afterwards, for those in attendance there will be an opportunity to continue the discussion in a post event networking session.

This event will also be streamed via “Go-to Meeting” to video Conference this event. This web based option will be available to members who are located outside the Gold Coast area. To register for the Go-to Meeting, please click here
