SYNOPSIS

The AGM for the BCS Enterprise Architecture Specialist Group, including the election of the new committee followed by Emma Askew, "The Ethical EA - For the greater good?" Ethical responsibility is a cornerstone of the BCS. For Enterprise Architecture this arguably goes beyond compliance and governance, and about making or enabling decisions that are morally sound, socially responsible, and aligned with the long-term well-being of the enterprise and its stakeholders. But how do we keep being 'good' when faced with the very real pressures of modern, agile, squeezed organisations.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

Emma has recently moved to Capgemini's Complex Architecture team as Senior Cloud Architect. Previously she'd been a Managing Architect delivering architecture services, before then EA at Wessex Water and SA at Orange/EE. Definitely a big-picture pragmatist delivering everything from very brown field solutions to pure architecture transformations across a range of industries. She's developed systems for safety-critical aircraft systems using experimental radar protocols, devised telemetry/M2M and business services, rewired finance and support systems to enable acquisitions, and reshaped a complex utility estate for retail 'market opening'.
