Cornwall Hospice Care are running a series of face-to-face training sessions on the safe and effective usage of the BD BodyGuard Syringe Pump for subcutaneous use on adults. The training is for Registered Nurses and is suitable for first time users and staff requiring an annual update.

This training session counts as 3 hours towards Continuing Professional Development required by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

The training will include:-

Theory: Clinical governance, duties and responsibilities, indications for use, preparation, record keeping, and trouble shooting

Practical: Simulation and assessment in the first time set up of syringe pump/change of prescription, and replacement syringes

Pre-course reading: Local Policy and Procedure for the use of the BD BodyGuard Syringe Pump.

A certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the simulated practical assessment and accurate completion of the Learning Checklist.
