Event Details

If you're looking for a challenge to kick-start 2014, then look no further than Be a Gunner. Be a Runner - Arsenal Football Club's annual charity fun-run in aid of The Arsenal Foundation.

Gunners supporters and keen runners young and old are encouraged to come down to Emirates Stadium on Saturday, 5 April, to take part in the event which is now in its sixth year and which continues to grow in popularity every season.

This year's version is set to be another great occasion for all the family, with separate races for adults and children on the day as well as other entertainment.

Race Information

Junior Race (10.30am start)

Open to all youngsters aged 14 and under, this year's event will once again be split into a one-lap race (for those aged 6 and under) and a two-lap race (for those aged 7-14 years).

All those runners taking part in the one-lap race must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the duration of the race, while those taking part in the two-lap race can enter unaccompanied.

Adult Race (11.15am start)

Open to anyone aged 15 or over, the adult race sees runners complete ten laps of Emirates Stadium, the equivalent of 6.4km.

Registration and check-in:

  • All Adult runners will receive a race pack in the post prior to the event, including an official Arsenal Foundation t-shirt, race number and wristband. Runners should bring these items with them as there will only be a limited number of spares available on race day
  • All Junior runners are required to check-in with a consenting adult on the day in the event registration area, where they will receive a special t-shirt and unique race number

Medals and Trophies

  • All participants in both the Adult and Junior events will receive a special race medal upon completion of the event. Adult entrants will also receive a goody bag while Junior participants can walk away with a certificate signed by Club mascot Gunnersaurus
  • The winning male and female runners in both the Adult and Junior events will be presented with a trophy and a limited edition Ben Tallon illustration of Olivier Giroud, personally signed by the French striker
  • Prizes will also be available for the best 'fancy dress' and the top fundraisers

All adult runners that would like to take part in Be a Gunner. Be a Runner. are advised to commit to raising a minimum of £150 in sponsorship to help the event meet its fundraising target! While this is not essential, we would strongly encourage all runners to raise what they can to make the event a success!

Entrants to the junior race are also encouraged to raise sponsorship (no minimum requirement).

All proceeds from the event will be used by The Arsenal Foundation to support even more projects in the UK and overseas that help to transform the lives of young people.
