Event description

Description

Nobody should sleep outside in winter but many people have no choice. For the rough sleepers on the streets of Cambridge and the refugees in northern France, who sleep on waste land around Calais and Dunkirk, homelessness is not their fault. They may be in this situation because they have lost their job, have family or health problems, have fled persecution, or because their home in Syria or Kurdistan was destroyed by bombs. They all face the same struggles, conditions and stigmatisation.

Help us support these people by volunteering to be a helper at our sponsored sleepout in the beautiful setting of St Giles' Church on the corner of Castle Hill, from Saturday evening to Sunday morning. You can choose how you want to help: for example, preparing soup on Friday, baking a cake, or running a stall for the winter fair on Saturday afternoon, or helping with publicity.

We will use the proceeds from the event to support CamCRAG's convoys to Northern France, the Cambridge Churches Homeless Project (CCHP), and groups supporting women who experience homelessness.
