Colour Fun Run 2023

Following a great event last year, the Colour Fun Run returns this Summer Festival with even more on offer!

Arrive at 11:00 to get registered and grab your colour packet ready to head to the start line!

Other activities after the run for you to enjoy are available until 15:00 ... you should bring sunglasses to protect your eyes when you do the colour run...run, jog, walk, skip or hop, all at your own pace, with no pressure - everyone is welcome. It's a 3km route. All registered runners will receive a colour packet at the registration area, you'll need this for the fun at the start line!

It's fun and social... not sure about doing the run? We will have loads of other activities on too including music, inflatables, giant lawn games, and an ice cream van. The first 100 students to visit the Ice Cream van will receive a free ice cream!

Entry to this is this event is free. Look out for Colour Fun Run travel options to get you to and from the event. Make sure to claim your ticket fast, there is a free white branded t-shirt to soak up all the colours for the first 50 who book.

A free one-day Unilink Dayrider bus ticket will be issued to all participants signed up to this event. To support your journey to and from this event at Wide Lane Sports Ground. Please ensure you have entered your Student ID and email address correctly in order for this to be sent to you. This must be sent to your university email address. If for any reason you don’t wish to receive a bus ticket please email studentevents@soton.ac.uk.

FAQS

What is the Colour Fun Run?

At each checkpoint along the route, Colour Runners are doused in colour powder. Participants wear white at the starting line and finish the race looking like a rainbow covered in colour!

What should I bring to the event?

We do ask that you bring your own water bottle with it filled up. There are water stations at Wide Lane for you to top up if you need to inside the Pavilion. We're trying to reduce our plastic waste.

You should bring sunglasses to protect your eyes from the colour powder.

The Colour Powder used is made of cornflour and food colouring so there might be a slight risk of staining, although this is minimal and likely to wash off easily.

Important information

Bring your own water bottle with it filled up if you're able to. There are water stations at Wide Lane for you to top up or sip from if you need to inside the Main Pavilion.

Participants must have signed up for this event via Eventbrite by 12:00 noon on Tuesday 6 June 2023 to receive a one-day Unilink Dayrider bus ticket. We cannot guarantee that students signed up past this date will receive a one-day Unilink Dayrider bus ticket.

This event is for all University of Southampton students. We may ask for a valid student ID upon entry. This event is subject to cancellation in the event of extreme weather conditions, we will post an update through Sussed and social media via University Student Communications on Wednesday 7th June, using the weather forecast.

If you can no longer make it to the event, please cancel your space to allow for another student to enter.

This event is only open to UoS students and no exceptions can be made.
