Event description

Be Confident, Be You - a workshop to empower and motivate women

Includes confidence-building exercises, interview confidence and how to create a personal statement useful for CVs and job, college and board applications.

Be Confident, Be You, will help you build your confidence, empowering you to take positive action so that you can live your life to its full potential.

The morning session will focus on confidence-building using various approaches including self exploration and visualisation.

In the afternoon each participant will create a personal statement that can be used in situations such as applying for a job, as part of a CV, applying for board positions, and as a positive affirmation to challenge limiting beliefs, maintain focus and build confidence. Who we are

The Worker’s Educational Association has been providing

high-quality educational opportunities to communities since

1903. Our vision is for a better world: equal, democratic and

just; through adult education the WEA challenges and inspires

individuals, communities and society.

The WEA Women@Work project aims to dismantle the barriers

women face caused by:

  • rural isolation
  • poverty
  • inequality

And to give women a voice:

  • in the home
  • at work
  • and in the community, both locally and nationally.

We have seven W@W network areas across the Highlands, each

with a local coordinator who organises events in their area.

The seven network areas are:

  • Caithness
  • Sutherland
  • Ross-shire
  • Skye & Lochalsh
  • Lochaber
  • Inverness
  • Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey

Our workshops and events are free to attend.

The Women@Work project is funded by the Scottish Government Promoting Equality and Cohesion Fund.

The Workers' Educational Association is a charity registered in England and Wales (number 1112775) and in Scotland (number SC039239) and a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales (number 2806910). Registered address is WEA, 4 Luke Street, London, EC2A 4XW.
