Our Speakers
David McGillivray & Jennifer M Jones - University of West of Scotland, #CitizenRelay
We'll be hearing from this incredible project which saw citizen journalists using the Olympic torch relay as a starting point for interviews about Scottish identity. Could citizen journalism change the way you interact with the public, your supporters, clients and key influencers?
Anne Connor - Outside the Box, Mind Waves
Mind Waves is an innovative project promoting mental health and wellbeing through positive use of media. Mind Waves success is down to the hard work of their community reporters. These passionate volunteers get training and support to identify and produce stories or more visual ways of promoting mental wellbeing. Could rich media, such as podcasts, video or photography, help your charity or social enterprise truly tell its story?
John Haydon - Live Discussion
We are very chuffed to have arguably one of the biggest names in social media for non-profits joining us for a live discussion. You'll have your chance to put your questions to John during our live transatlantic video chat.
You know the 'Facebook Marketing for Dummies' book? Well John Haydon wrote it. John is the man behind social media strategy firm Inbound Zombie and you may also know him as The Nonprofit Facebook Guy. As well as his consultancy work John is also a high profile public speaker, speaking at some of the biggest tech conferences this year. What John doesn't know about Facebook for charities and social entreprenuers really isn't worth knowing.

Be Good Be Social is for the beginner as much as the digital die-hard. We hope to bring together people interested in social media for social good, whether you work or volunteer for a non-profit, charity or social enterprise.
You'll get a chance to see how other Scottish third sector organisations are using tools such as Twitter, Facebook Foursquare and YouTube as well as blogging and podcasting platforms to bring about real change and raise funds.
Businesses, freelancers and public sector workers are also welcome, although these tickets are limited.
Thanks to Blackbaud for sponsoring the event, The Big Lottery Scotland for sponsoring catering and Third Sector Lab for organising. On the night event photograpy will be provided by Trixta Photography and video live-streaming provided by Beyongolia.
