About this Event

On behalf of Google and YouTube Creators for Change, we are delighted to invite you to Be Internet Citizens Train The Trainer. This event aims to equip those that work in Secondary or Further Education, with the tools to teach young people how to be safe users of the web and encourage them to be positive voices online.

New safety guidelines, issued by the government, are set to become part of the core learning curriculum. These changes will enable educators to engage with contemporary online issues in their teachings. Be Internet Citizens explores subjects such as fake news, scapegoating and biased writing equipping young people with critical thinking and media literacy skills.

Join us and network with other local educators, from school and non-school settings, in order to exchange ideas of best practice when exploring sensitive online issues with our ‘Digital Natives’. Let’s ensure our young people have sufficient education to help them become emotionally mature, critical thinking ‘Internet Citizens’.

The day will kick off with a panel discussion and guest talks from renowned leaders in tech, education and policy. Then our expert facilitators will lead you through an interactive training session, that will deconstruct complex topics in a unique, fun first approach.

Register your free place today and join the #BeInternetCitizens movement:

  • Your attendance will include a copy of our PSHE accredited resources, comprised of five session plans, presentations and supporting materials.
  • The event includes breakfast, lunch and travel reimbursements of up to £20.
  • Worried you can’t get the time off? This could qualify as a Continued Professional Development (CPD) day.
