Description

Join us at Stanfords to celebrate the art of Japanese living with new DK Eyewitness Travel book, Be More Japan – an evening of cultural insight, top travel tips and Japanese whisky tasting! Be More Japan is a celebration of all things Japanese, from the country’s fascinating, ancient traditions to its unique and influential modern culture.

This event will be a panel discussion between DK Eyewitness Travel Guides, InsideAsia Tours – the leading Japan travel specialists and Nikka (Japanese) Whisky ambassadors. The panel discussion will cover a wide range of topics including history, art, cultural quirks as well as travel information and how to plan the perfect trip.

Learn why Japan is one of the top travel destinations for 2019 from the experts and learn how to Be More Japan wherever you are.

Speakers:

Robin Maul, DK Eyewitness

Robin has worked for DK Eyewitness for over a year but has an extensive and unique travel portfolio. She can also be referred to as a nomad and has lived in many different countries including Canada and Japan. Some of her most unique trips include hiking solo for 17 days along the Camino de Santiago, climbing Mount Fuji and visiting bunny island in Japan. She is particularly passionate about Japan.

Alastair Donnelly, InsideAsia Tours

Alastair Donnelly is Director/Co-Founder of award-winning specialist Japan tour operator, InsideJapan Tours. Bristol-based Alastair founded the company in 2000 with friend and business partner, Simon King, after they had both spent time living and teaching in Japan. Today, Alastair heads up a team of 200 staff, based in five offices around the world.

Stefanie Holt, Nikka Whisky

Stef Holt is an award-winning whisky ambassador who rhapsodises about the golden nectar around the UK. Whether it be training bartenders, entertaining consumers or pouring drams to the thirsty masses at shows & events, her explanations of flavour, production and history really help bring whisky to life. She has been working with Nikka for over 4 years now, and has travelled to Japan numerous times for very delicious ‘research’.
