Join us for the very first ‘Be Seen, Be Heard’ event by The Different Dating Company.
We live in a world full of noise — yet somehow, it’s easy to feel invisible. Especially when you’re single. The online world promotes narrow ideals of beauty, and the same voices get all the airtime. We think it’s time to do things differently.
This one-of-a-kind event offers a fresh approach.
Single attendees only:
For single participants, when you sign up, you’ll be invited to submit an optional image (of anything but yourself) and audio clip — a song, a voice note, or a recording of anything you choose; something unique to you.
Submissions close and ticket sales end at midnight on Sunday 18th May.
The day before the event, all singles will receive a private collection of images and clips from all attendees that have chosen to submit. Each one will be numbered, and accompanied by their age and sexuality, so if someone intrigues you, it will be easy to identify them on the night by the badge they'll be wearing.
Wingmen/women:
For a discounted rate you can accompany your single friend/sibling/parent/whoever to give them a wee confidence boost and cheer them on if they choose to take to the stage. You'll wear a differently coloured badge on the night so there's no danger of being mistakenly hit on 😉
At the event, you get to show up on your terms. All attendees can choose to either:
🎭 Be Seen – Sign up to take part in a playful Taskmaster-style game. No pressure, no prizes — just a chance to show your spark. Or...
🎤 Be Heard – Sign up for a 5-minute slot on the mic. Sing, share a poem, speak your mind — whatever feels true to you. Or...
👀 See/Hear: Choose to observe only.
This event is for everyone that's single (and their wingpeople) — all ages, all orientations. It’s about bringing together singles from Macclesfield and the surrounding areas to form a real-life community. And yes, you’re more than welcome to come on your own too — in fact, you’ll probably get the most out of it if you do.
This isn’t about hook-ups (save that for the apps). We’re here for connection. At The Different Dating Company, we stand for positivity, authenticity, and curiosity — and we expect everyone who attends to show respect, both during and after the event. Ghosts can stay in the graveyard with the apps. If that’s not your vibe, this isn’t your space.
