About this event
Are you unemployed and thinking about self-employment? We can provide the advice and guidance you’ll need to get started.
Approximate course length:
This is a TWO day course
Wednesday and Thursday
9:30 am to 12noon, and 1pm to 3pm
You must attend all sessions
This course is for:
Anyone 19+ exploring the idea of starting their own small business and earning less than £16,000 per annum or unemployed.
You will learn:
Key considerations of starting a business
• Preparations before you start
• Managing money, accessing funding
This course will be delivered remotely using Zoom so you will be part of a live class, with a tutor, but with everyone doing the course in their own home. There will be chance to ask questions and you will be given the support you require for your individual development.
Your tutor will give you feedback via a one to one session arranged after the course and you will be able to self-assess.
Work outside of sessions:
This is not required, though we hope you will want to put what you have learned into practice.
You may be given tasks or activities to practise or prepare between sessions.
Additional costs and what to prepare:
This course is offered free of charge and there are no other costs.
You will need either a smart phone, tablet, laptop or other computer with internet access to take part in this Zoom session. Please make sure you test your video and sound system before the session starts.

How to access your course:
You will be sent an email at least 24 hours before your Zoom course is due to start with joining instructions.
Progression from this course:
You may wish to progress to our follow on course ‘Passport to Enterprise’.
