About this event

Bears in Trees is a self described "dirtbag boyband" from south London. It is comprised of Nick Peters (he/him, guitar, lyrics), Callum Litchfield, (he/him, piano, ukulele, vocals), George Berry (he/him, drums), and Iain Gillespie (they/them, bass, lyrics, vocals). They were signed to Counter Intuitive Records in 2020, and their debut studio album came out November 19th that year. Their musical influences include Fall Out Boy, The Front Bottoms, and The Wombats.

As their name suggests, Happy Fits specialize in upbeat, garage rock-kissed indie folk and alternative pop that's as inclusive as it is infectious. Emerging in 2016, the band began as a simple summer project for New Jersey-based high school friends Calvin Langman (cello, vocals), Ross Monteith (guitar), and Luke Davis (percussion) before heading to college. When their debut EP, Awfully Apeelin’, became a streaming hit, the trio decided to relocate to N.Y.C. and make a go of it. 2018's full-length Concentrate saw the band deliver a dynamic set that showcased their vocal and instrumental versatility. 2020's wide-ranging What Could Be Better was another crowd-pleaser, yielding two of the trio's best confections to date in "She Wants Me (To Be Loved)" and "Hold Me Down." In 2022, they issued Under the Shade of Green, which parsed the collective hardships of the past two years (COVID-19, climate change, socio-political discord) with the group's signature blend of optimism and earworm melodies.
