About this event
Tired? Feeling down? Dreading winter?
It's thought the winter blues, or seasonal affective disorder (SAD), affects around 2 million people in the UK. It can affect people of any age, including children.
For many it's just feeling a bit down and unsociable but for other it can be completely debilitating.
But it doesn't have to be like that!
If you are facing a winter of depression, lethargy, irritability and sleep issues, then this workshop could be just what you need.
Come along to this lunchtime workshop and learn how to beat the winter causes. We'll cover:
- What potentially causes* the winter blues and what treatments there are;
- How you can make tiny lifestyle changes you can make to improve your symptoms;
- How to develop a strategy for improving your winter blues that fits into with your lifestyle.
You will leave with an alternative way of looking the months ahead and practical solutions to help you beat the winter blues*.
*scientists don't fully know what causes SAD but we have some theories.
This workshop will led by medical herbalist and contemplative coach, Victoria Wright, PhD. Victoria has a rigorous and scientific approach to helping people understand their own health issues thanks to 10 years' experience working as a research scientist and 6 years training as a medical herbalist. This is uniquely combined with 20 years of meditation training and the study of contemplative psychology and coaching.
