Join us on a walking tour of Preston city centre as part of the Preston Remembers programme of WW1 tours.
This tour will focus on the fascinating life of Beatrice Blackhurst. A mother and campaigner she was part of the committee that set up the Preston Station Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Free Buffet. An advocate for children’s and women’s rights, Beatrice passionately worked for what she believed in throughout her life.
Please meet the tour guide at the entrance of Avenham Park on Ribblesdale Place. The walk will take approximately 1.5 hours and cover a distance of 1 mile. Please not that it is not a circular tour and will finish at Preston train station. Sturdy walking shoes advised.
