Beautiful New Beginnings Liverpool's Independent Antenatal Courses
We run six week block courses which are all led by different professionals and cover different topics each week.
Week 1 midwife led - course covers signs and stages of labour, pain relief, normal birth and delivery, pain relief available and different types of birth.
Week 2 midwife led - session covers different types of delivery including instrumental delivery, Caesarean section and complications during birth. Our midwife also covers feeding both breast and bottle.
Week 3 - personal trainer led - our qualified personal trainer will take you through the benefits of exercise during pregnancy and those that can be safely done whilst pregnant to strengthen core areas and help during birth. The session includes relaxation technique and back strengthening exercises.
Week 4 is run by St John Ambulance and covers first aid for babies and children including choking, febrile convulsions, CPR, recovery position, and many other childhood illness.
Week 5 - health visitor led. The session covers safe sleeping, bonding and attachment, routine, feeding, safety in the home and much more.
Week 6 is led by our qualified teacher with over 10 years experience. We go through child development and ways to stimulate development, what's on in your local area, registering your baby plus we take a look at and have a go with some of the equipment the market today, sterilisers, bottle making machines, nappies and bathing! Plus lots of good practical help and advice.
We have follow on group support in the form of whatsapp and social media sites and our aim is for you to leave the course feeling skilled, prepared and confident as you enter this next stage of your life with a brand new set of friends to enjoy the journey with.
