How do we bring community energy and creative practitioners together?

Are you planning a community renewable energy project? Are you a renewables engineer with an interest in art? The Land Art Generator Initiative integrates art and interdisciplinary creative processes into the conception of renewable energy infrastructure.

To coincide with the opening of the Glasgow Land Art Generator competition exhibition, we are running a practical workshop to explore what’s needed to successfully bring together community energy and creative practitioners. Chris Fremantle, who is running the Glasgow competition and LAGI founders, Elizabeth Monoian and Robert Ferry, will use their experience to provide some pointers on recruiting artists and designers, developing briefs and running competitions. We’ll then break into groups to work on one or more real case studies, discussing how to gather the information you need, how to best enable people from very different fields to work together, what the common challenges are and how to overcome them. Other experts will help with advice on funding, planning and other issues.

The workshop is ideal for anyone who already has a project planned or is interested in developing one. The workshop is almost full but we'll try to squeeze in extra people if we can. We want to have a good mix of people attending and we are particularly keen to hear from people from the community energy, renewables, planning and engineering fields.
