Description

The Healing Power of Meditaion | 4 week mindfulness series | with Buddhist Teacher Michael O'Shea

“So much of the stress and tension we normally experience comes from our mind, and many of the problems we experience, including ill health, are caused or aggravated by this stress. Just by doing breathing meditation for ten or fifteen minutes each day we will be able to reduce this stress. We will experience a calm, spacious feeling in the mind, and many of our usual problems will fall away.” Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

Discover the many benefits that meditation can have on our health and well being. Such benefits have been known by Buddhist practitioners for thousands of years and the lineage of these instructions and practices remain intact. We will be introduced to several meditations that can restore the harmony of the inner elements within our body as well as more profound meditation practices to heal our mind of the poisons of anger, attachment and ignorance that Buddha taught to be root the cause of all sickness.

23rd Aug – Just Breath

This class will explore two variations of the breathing meditation that will help heal our body and mind with a talk introducing meditation as a tool for healing.

30th Aug – Healing Anger

Discover meditations that will heal the painful minds of anger and resentment leading to deeper peace and more harmonious relationships.

6th Sept – Healing Attachment

The root of all our daily problems is attachment or uncontrolled desire. Learn how to reduce our normal craving for externals things and discover a deeper happiness from within.

13th Sept – Healing Ignorance

This class will explore Buddha’s profound teaching on emptiness, the true nature of reality which is the real opponent to the inner poison of ignorance. By meditating on the emptiness of the body we can learn to change our relationship with pain and open the door to a universal solution for all our problems.

Fees: Drop-in class, no need to book, £10 per class. Special online price £30 for the 4- week series. Included in KMC London membership.
