We are an official branch of Toastmasters International, a not-for-profit network which has operated since 1924 and has helped more than 4 million people just like you from around the world to become more confident speakers and leaders.
Meeting Format
We have a structure for every meeting. After a brief introduction and warm up we start the first half with a couple of prepared speeches from existing members.
These speeches are then evaluated.
We take a short break for tea and in the second half, we practice impromptu speaking. Participants are given a topic to speak about entirely off-the-cuff for one to two minutes. It can be daunting but it is fun and a great way to build your confidence!
Also at every meeting, members are encouraged to take additional leadership and supporting roles, such as evaluator, timekeeper, grammarian or toastmaster.
We meet on the first, third and *fifth Thursday of every month.
