Description

This free one-day interactive workshop is co-facilitated by Elsevier and Vitae, in collaboration with The University of Manchester.

The workshop is designed to introduce researchers to the ‘nuts and bolts’ of publishing in an academic journal, including the publishing process, building an effective manuscript, and publication ethics. During interactive sessions, participants will explore the competences needed for successful academic publishing, and build a personal plan for progressing as a researcher and author.

Throughout the day, participants will have the opportunity for discussion with peers and facilitators on topics such as deciding where to publish, Open Access routes and licencing, and getting your research noticed.

The workshop will provide practical advice and tools to takeaway, including Elsevier’s Publishing Campus, the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF), publishing plan templates, and a publishing checklist.
