Great British Entrepreneur Awards in association with BT Skills for Tomorrow have designed a free, live-streamed series of 'Lightbulb Sessions' to support small businesses and entrepreneurs with insightful and advice-driven sessions with the UK's brilliant entrepreneurial minds to illuminate their path to entrepreneurial success.

This free session will see GBEA founder Francesca James speak with a panel of B Corp business leaders including Pippa Murray of Pip & Nut, Jo-Anne Chidley of Beauty Kitchen and Gareth Jones of Town Square Spaces.

Pippa, Jo-Anne and Gareth will share top tips and advice on becoming fully certified, the application process, advantages and benefits that being a B Corp can have, and how this can positively affect your business.

Pippa Murray

Pip brought to life Pip & Nut, an all natural nut butter brand , that's on a mission to put the nut back into nut-trition. Launched in January 2015 you can now find our squirrels in the aisles of top retail stores like Tesco, Morrison’s, ASDA,Holland & Barrett, Sainsbury's, Ocado, Selfridges, Wholefoods, As Nature Intended, Booths, Sourced Market, Partridges, Revital & many more.

Jo-Anne Chidley

Jo Chidley is a chemist and the Founder of Beauty Kitchen UK Ltd, a company on a mission to create the most sustainable beauty products in the world. Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of sustainable beauty, Jo is driving the beauty industry forward with better practise approaches, always. She is Beauty Kitchen’s toughest critic, inspecting everything from the efficacy of the products, to the way the ingredients are sourced, right down to the packaging sustainability for each product. Sustainability in packaging is a subject that is close to her heart and inspired Beauty Kitchen’s RETURN • REFILL • REPEAT programme. Jo has won industry awards, including the ‘Who’s Who in Natural Beauty’ and business awards such as ‘Scale Up Entrepreneur of the Year’. She features in national and international press and is regularly invited to speak at global sustainability events, to share her ideas and knowledge on how all of us can develop new ways to build a more sustainable future.

Gareth Jones

In 2012, Gareth founded the Innovation Centre for Enterprise (Welsh ICE) – now one of the largest coworking spaces in the country. In 2017 he exited to found Town Square Spaces, an accredited B Corp set up to replicate the model across the UK – currently North Wales, Oxfordshire and West Sussex, and with plans to grow further. Through these, and his operation of Accelerator Wales, and Startup Club he has helped to support over 1,000 businesses to thousands of jobs, generating £millions in uplift for their local economies. He has established a strong reputation in the business community across the UK. In 2019, Gareth was invited to join the Prime Minister’s Small Business, Scale ups and Entrepreneurs Business Council, where he currently advises the Prime Minister on how to support SMEs through Brexit. He was also included in this year’s Maserati 100, identifying him as one of the top innovators and a ‘people’s champion’ for the UK.

BT Skills For Tomorrow

With the spread of the coronavirus, having the right digital skills to do business online is more important than ever. That’s why BT developed new learning content and is working with a range of brilliant partners, such as Google Digital Garage, Small Business Britain and Great British Entrepreneur Awards to run a host of free webinars with experts to help SMEs cope.

These online courses will help SME owners and their employees improve their digital skills through new online tools, social media advice and new digital tips and tricks, empowering them with the skills they need today during these challenging times.
