Event description

Description

Presenter: Dr Shirley Cooper, LDC Development Team

This short workshop will give you the opportunity to learn, practice, and enhance on your facilitation skills in a practical and fun environment, in which you will also gain experience in presenting a proposal at a group meeting. The session will focus on practical activities to help you develop facilitation and meeting skills in a safe environment. In the main activity you will have the opportunity to: present and defend a proposal to a group of colleagues; facilitate the discussion between colleagues and work to a set agenda and time and question others about their proposal. The activity will be reviewed to help you reflect on and identify further skills to develop as a facilitator and to enhance your own performance in group meetings.

Note: for this workshop we ask for a little pre-workshop preparation to prepare a short outline of a proposal for a half day workshop that would be of interest for your PGR colleagues in your research area. Your proposal is presented verbally. Further details will be sent in the pre-workshop email.

You are strongly recommended to attend the webinar, ‘Introduction to Facilitation in the Research Environment’ prior to your attendance at this workshop. This workshop is open to all and also contributes to the programme of workshops available for those applying for the Development Tutor Scheme.

This workshop offers opportunities to gain skills outlined in the RDF subdomains D1 and D2.

Registration: You are recommended to use your university of Liverpool email to register on Eventbrite and then the calendar invitation will be added to your University calendar. We reserve the right to remove attendees who do not appear to be members of this University.
