What inspires us to become who we are?
In this interactive seminar, Shakil Ahmed shares his journey into futures studies—why he calls himself a futurist, educator, and storyteller—and how this path led to his current doctoral research on the relationship between inspiration and futures methods.
Participants are invited to reflect on their own origin stories and imagine new, inspiring narratives of the future. Together, we’ll consider how stories of the past and futures yet to be written can move us beyond Gross Domestic Product (and other paradigms that maintain the status quo), toward more meaningful measures of collective agency.
