About this event

  • 3 hours

This interactive session on reflective practice and reflective writing will help you to develop within your role and adopt a learning mindset. It will be useful if you are working towards professional registration, if you want to explore how to incorporate reflection into your day-to-day life or if you want to take some time out to reflect on library services or your personal development. We will consider how to develop a reflective habit and what the optimum learning environment looks like for you. There will be plenty of time for you to practice reflection during the session using different tools and approaches both alone and with others. If you have a piece of reflective writing that you would like to work on, bring it along to the session as there will be time to work on it.

By the end of the session, you will have:

  • developed an understanding of how you can use reflection both personally and professionally
  • been introduced to theories, frameworks and models
  • explored how to create a reflective space and commit to the practice
  • participated in group and individual activities and discussions
