Detailed full-day workshop (Leeds):
Understand the new assessment methods, explore organisational models and successfully apply to become an AAO
Are you thinking of becoming an Apprentice Assessment Organisation (AAO)? Are you keen for your assessor staff to be part of the new synoptic end-point assessments? This full-day workshop, with input from the Skills Funding Agency, will take you through the detail.
All apprentices in future will go through the new end-point assessments, independently carried out by an AAO. Many organisations are considering the opportunities of becoming an AAO, but have lots of unanswered questions.
This workshop will take you through the detail, give you practical examples, answer your questions and give you chance to hear from those who have successfully set themselves up as an AAO:
- Consider the business opportunities of becoming an AAO or contracting out your assessors to an AAO, as well as some of the pitfalls to avoid
- Understand the various end-assessment methods that have been specified in the new assessment plans
- Explore different AAO organisational models
- Understand the process for applying to become an AAO, including useful hints and tips
- Hear from an organisation who has already successfully become an AAO
Who the workshop is for:
This workshop is for those interested in becoming an Apprentice Assessment Organisation or those who are keen to contract out their assessors to an AAO, including colleges, training providers, awarding organisations and employers and individuals exploring potential opportunities.
Why an SDN workshop?
SDN are leading experts in the apprenticeship reforms. We have supported hundreds of training providers across the country and have been involved with employer groups developing standards and assessment plans. We have a unique insight into what is required in terms of training and assessment and how providers can seize the opportunities.
The workshop will be facilitated by Chris Cherry and Louise Doyle, SDN’s resident experts in the apprenticeship standards and assessment plans. Chris has been heavily involved in the design and development of many assessment plans and both have a strong track record of supporting providers with the reforms up and down the country, including the development of to the Future Apprenticeships toolkit.
The Skills Funding Agency will also be at the workshop to take you through the process of the Register and answer your questions, along with input from a provider who has already successfully become an AAO.
Where it is not possible for your organisation to pay for the workshop using a credit card, we are happy to accept invoices. Please make contact using the contact details below to arrange this.
