About this Event
This one day online course is designed to support staff in organisations to develop an understanding of the dynamics and process of trauma, inform practice and support system change.
Course objectives
- To understand the pervasiveness of violence and the impact it has upon people
- To know the definitions of trauma, and what being ‘trauma informed’ and ‘trauma responsive’ means
- To understand how knowledge about trauma can make your work easier and safer
- To learn about self-care for you and those you work with
Evidence base
One Small Thing curricula and work is rooted in over 30 years of research, development and expertise of pioneering and leading US expert in evidence-based trauma-informed practice, Dr. Stephanie Covington. UK research conducted in partnership with the University of Portsmouth, demonstrates the impact trauma informed work can have.
Course structure
This Becoming Trauma Informed Awareness online course will take place:

9 am registration
9.30 am start - 4.30 pm finish
We currently offer a discounted ticket for organisations with an income under £350,000.
Discounted tickets are limited to one ticket per organisation.
