Bee celebration afternoon
Come join us for an informative and special afternoon all about bees (and insects), ecology and how we can enhance our local biodiversity.
We are delighted to invite you to a special talk by Prof. Dave Goulson, University of Sussex and founder of the Bumbleebee Conservation Trust.
Learn about the importance of wild bees and insects in our ecosystem and what we can do to help protect them.
This in person community event will be held at Hanworth Village Hall, a local venue next door to our very special 'Hanworth Air Park' in the west of the London Borough of Hounslow.
This is a perfect event for all ages with workshops and talks. Come make 'buzzy bees', seed bombs and learn about how you can enhance your local spaces and gardens to support bees and insects which in turn support all wildlife.
The 'Hanworth Air Park Biodiversity Project' (HAPBP) began in early 2023 with ecology events on the park looking at its flora and fauna. Recently we ran a bat walk with nearly 100 people and an invertebrate monitoring workshop on the park. The HAPBP project is an education and environment initiative of the Friends of Hanworth Park House (FoHPH).
Refreshments will be available. If you fancy bringing a dish to share please do. Please bring if you can your own mug/cup for a drink.
If you would like to be involved or help on the day please contact me.
We welcome people from our local community as well as people from across London and afar.
This HAPBP event is being funded by the Crane Valley Partnership Community Fund. HAPBP is supported by the National London Park Rangers and the London Borough of Hounslow via the Environmental Champions. Thank you to the St Michael Steiner School.
