Join the West Lothian Ranger Service for some conservation tasks in Beecraigs Country Park. For this session we will be based at Witchcraig woodland, and we will be doing some tree after-care or 'beating-up' in forestry terms. This involves checking the condition on the saplings that have been planted by volunteers in spring 2024, replacing any damaged tree tubes and stakes, and re-planting as necessary any saplings that have failed.

All tools and a full tool safety talk will be provided by the Ranger. If you have some, please bring along a pair of gloves with you, and wear appopriate clothing for the weather. Good sturdy footwear is also advised. Please bring along any snacks and drinks you require. No prior experience is necessary to take part in the sessions, new volunteers are always welcome!

The session will run for two hours starting at 10am, and the meeting place is at the Korean War Memorial, which is located on the road between Linlithgow and Bathgate.
