Description

BEGINNERS BEEKEEPING COURSE 2019

This course covers the main aspects of keeping bees and the beekeeping year. It combines theory with practical beekeeping and is for people considering keeping bees in an urban location. It is led and taught by a team of our experienced beekeepers.

The NLB Beginners’ Course runs for five weekly evening theory sessions of two hours each on Monday evenings in March and April from 7.30pm – 9.30pm: These are followed by an extended practical session on Sunday April 14th at our teaching apiary near Kenwood House and Highgate Village.

All course members can then attend NLB’s regular apiary teaching sessions, practical demonstrations, talks, meetings and social events held throughout the year. The cost of the Beginners Course includes annual membership to North London Beekeepers, the British Beekeepers Association, annual insurance, a copy of the BBKA Guide to Beekeeping, course certificate, use of protective beekeeping suits and refreshments.

There is no exam at the end of this course.

This course is for adults and young people over 18 years
