Begin Well is a christian charity providing affordable, accessible, evidenced based antenatal courses across the south-west UK. Our aim is to give you the best starting blocks for family life.

Over the 5 week course you will look at caring for your baby, giving birth and meeting your baby, changes for your relationships and much more. In a relaxed atmosphere, you will have chance to ask questions and to meet other parents-to-be. The best time to do the course is in the last part of your pregnancy, after 28 weeks.

The course will run on Wednesday evenings, from 7-9pm. Each session covers a different topic, so please come to all the sessions to get the most out of the course. You only need to reserve one ticket for the first session to come to all the sessions. The course dates are Wednesday 17th, 24th Sept, 1st, 8th and 15th Oct 2025.

There is no charge for the course and your ticket will admit you and your birth partner.

How many weeks pregnant should I be to attend?

It's advisable to be in your 3rd Trimester so 28 weeks plus to get the most benefit out of the course

Can I bring a partner?

Yes we definitely encourage you to bring a birth partner. All are welcome, whether it be your partner, a friend or family member. But you are also welcome if you can attend on your own, and we will ensure you are made to feel at home.

How many tickets do I need to get?

One joint ticket for you and your partner covers you for all the sessions.

I live quite far away - can I still come?

Ideally, we would like you to live fairly locally as the courses are a great way to meet other local parents-to-be, and access other support networks where you live. Courses run in lots of locations across the south-west UK, so get in touch for help finding one near you.
