About this event

Join if you're new to yoga, feeling low confidence for any reason, or simply to get the foundations.

Every 6 weeks we will focus on something new. Meaning you know what to expect week after week, until you feel confident in this area of yoga.

Bristol School of Yoga is a warm, bright and welcoming space. Fully kitted out with plenty of yoga equipment that you don't need to bring anything along if you don't want to / don't have anything.

Together we will build strength and mobility, whilst also learning the ancient breath, meditation and relaxation practices that make yoga such a unique and versatile tool that supports us in modern life.

Everything you will learn will be delivered with openness, clarity and practicality - demistifying the practice and helping you feel solid and grounded in what you're learning.

Come to this class if you're interested in learning yoga in a truly friendly and approachable way.

There is the option for paid parking around the studio. Otherwise it's a very central location, therefore easily accessible via public transport. There are bike racks across the street from the studio if you'd prefer to arrive by bike.

Frequently asked questions

I've never done yoga before, is this right for me?

This is perfect for you. The classes will assume no prior knowledge, so everything will be delivered in a thoughtful and well paced manner. You're welcome no matter your movement ability.

I've done lots of yoga before, will this suit me?

You can still get a lot from this class. I've spent many years studying anatomy and how the body moves. Over the years I've refined how I cue movement. This means that if you've practiced yoga a lot in the past, you'll enjoy the nuance of instruction and the subtle shifts in sensation.

I have injuries, can I come along?

You're welcome here! Even though S.O.B.'s is written as standing for Stressed, Overwhelmed and Beginners, I was also considering the title Stiff, Old and Broken! Personally, I've been through various big injuries in the past, one very major. I understand how vulnerable it can feel being injured.

Do I need to bring anything?

All yoga equipment is provided, including mats, bricks, blocks, belts, bolsters, blankets etc. You will lack nothing here. Please arrive in clothes that you'll feel happy to move in, that's all you'll need.
