This art course will take place in a cosy studio surrounded by greenery in the countryside. There will be plenty of tea, coffee and cake and lunch will also be provided.

An outline of what will take place each week, you can book for whole 6 weeks or chose a week that you would like to come along too. An outline of what happens each week is listed below,

Week one: This first week we will be exploring basic drawing techniques and materials, explaining the use of different papers, pencils, charcoal and ink. We will also be looking at contemporary as well as historical botanical artists work.

Week two: This week we will be looking at what makes a pleasing composition as well as learning what makes good subjects to draw and paint. We will be using plants found at Hillside but please feel free to bring your own plant/Flowers for this week if you would prefer.

Week three: Will be a day of colour! We will explore what can be done with watercolour paint. Mixing, blending and applying. We will also try a little colour pencil work.

Week four: This week is dedicated to starting your final painting , drawing and lay out of your chosen subject. Starting colour washes.

Week Five: A whole day dedicated to your painting. Building up colour and creating depth.

Week six: The final day of the course. On this day you will continue with your colour work and finishing off technical details. We will also discuss presentation and framing.
