Do I need any equipment?

No, if you do have binoculars then bring them along but we'll have some you can borrow and a telescope with us to help spot the birds

Will it still go ahead if it is raining?

Our walks will go ahead unless there is a weather warning in place. If there are any changes we will contact you using the email address you supply when booking and will put details on our social media pages.

Join us during the Great Coastal Birdwatch at for a gentle walk around the coastline with time to stop and observe the birds we spot along the way. The walk is suitable for beginners and experienced birders alike. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but they must be kept on a lead to avoid disturbance.

Meeting place - Outside the visitor centre at Riverside Country Park, Gillingham ME7 2XH

Time - 10am to 12 noon

Parking - paid parking on site

Facilities - There are toilet facilities on site and a cafe.

Type of walk - Out and back on the pathway along the waters edge. Paths are fairly flat but can be muddy if it has been raining so suitable footwear is recommended. There are spots to sit down on the way.

It is free to attend our walks, but spaces are limited so please book your spot to avoid disappointment.
