Beginners Ceramics Creative Craft Class
Wed 31 May 2017, 18:15 – 20:15 BST
Meet the makers of Our Handmade Collective as they share their knowledge and teach you new skills in a relaxed, friendly and inspiring setting over a cuppa and cake!
Participants of the class will make up to 8 keepsake hanging decorations, buttons or pieces to make into jewellery, or a variety of each. Natalie of Upsydaisy Craft will show you simple and more complex pottery techniques to create pattern and texture, using a vast variety of cutters and stamps which she will provide (everything from hearts, flowers and dinosaurs to letters, clouds and houses).
As the pieces dry Natalie will demonstrate glaing and bring along examples of the colours to enable you to glaze your own pieces. The finished items will be loaded into individual boxes and taken away to be fired in the kiln. They will be ready for collection from Our Handmade Collective approx. 2 weeks later - you will receive email confirmation and finished pieces can be posted out (this can be arranged in the class).
Natalie will bring examples of what can be made, please feel free to bring along any stamps/textures you might want to try in the clay, or any ideas/sketches you may have. Or just come along and see what creativity inspires you on the night!
No previous experience required, lots of fun to be had playing with clay - it is recommended to bring an apron but the clay doesn't stain.
All materials and equipment are provived, this class is suitable for adults and responsible children if accompanied by an adult.
Class cost is £30.00 per person plus booking fee of £2.45.
