Yoga is an ancient system of philosophy and set of practices designed to bring mind and body together creating a holistic sense of well-being.
Every week we will explore a number of fundamental yoga poses whilst focussing on specific categories of asanas (poses) each time:
Sat 14 January 2.30-4pm: Breath, sun salutations and forward folds
Sat 21 January 2.30-4pm: Twists
Sat 28 January 2.30-4pm: Backbends
Sat 4 February 2.30-4pm: Bringing it all together
We will pay much attention to healthy alignment and cultivate a deeper awareness of the breath throughout.
By booking the first date, you'll be booking for the whole course.
Some of the many benefits of yoga include improvement in posture, increased muscle tone, strength, flexibility and stamina, a greater ability to cope with stress and a feeling of calm. A new you in a new year!
Diviya said: I enjoyed it immensely. Flavia’s approach helped me see yoga as a friendly and compassionate mode of being rather than as a strict, intimidating performance. I could then focus on how my own body was reacting rather than on what I could be doing 'wrong'. All this really worked for me and has (hopefully!) set me towards a more regular practice.
Richard said: I really enjoyed it, it's always great to do something slightly outside your comfort zone with someone who is clearly so into it. Flavia managed to create such a calm atmosphere that I didn't once feel uncomfortable.
