Event description

Description

Crochet is a great alternative and also complimentary technique to knitting. It is more freestyle, great for lacey designs, 3d shapes and can also be used to embelish and join your knitting,

Our Beginners Crochet has been developed to meet the needs of those wishing to take the first steps into the world of crochet. These classes will not only introduce the participants to the fundamentals of crochet but also to practical advice on yarns, hooks and pattern reading.

Join Tone Ward, from Ull Nordic Craft, an expert in Scandinavian knitting and crocheting. She started clicking the needles in Norway as a small girl and hasn’t looked back since. She is an enthusiastic follower of ‘Hygge’ and practices this ‘philosophy for living’ in all areas of her life. An experienced workshop leader, Tone will guide you with practical help and tips, give observations and feedback with your learning.

These classes are suitable for absolute beginners and for those with the basics may wish to join part 2 to refresh and progress.

PART 1,
11am - 1.30pm:

Learn how to cast on, chain and single crochet, learn about the possibilities of crochet, choosing yarn and hooks.

PART 2, 2.30 - 5pm

Learn Double and treble crochet. Learn how to change yarn/colour, learn to read/write a simple pattern by making a granny square, introduction to amigurumi for those who are interested.
