What happens in this class?

Join us to learn how to sand and finish epoxy resin. Using your board from Intro 1, you will flatten, sand, polish and cut your board into two coasters. This course will include sanders, drum machinery, router tables and chop saws. you will have the opportunity to use Festool power tools and will learn the fundamentals of finishing epoxy resin work.

If you want to start making your own resin projects such as river tables, live edge artwork, live edge furniture or epoxy resin coatings, then this is the perfect place to come and learn how to give your work the perfect finish!

NB, the course will cover a finish of 320g and will only cover the theory behind gloss finish resin work.

An apron, tools and materials will all be provided, but we do recommend you wear old clothes.

Resin Finishing classes will last approximately 2.5 hours

Things to Remember

Aprons will be provided but please wear old clothes. Free parking onsite: please drive up to the gates and the security attendant will let you in.

Nearest train stations: Woolwich dockyard, then 10 min walk Woolwich Arsenal, then bus (5mins) 161, 177, 180, 472 to Warspite Road North Greenwich, then bus (15mins) 472 or 161 to Yateley Street.

On arrival to Thames Side Studios, enter through the gates and turn immediately left. Walk through the atrium and through the double doors on the opposite end. We are the first studio on the left.

NB: We do not accept entry to our classes 15 minutes after the listed start date. This is to ensure our students have a lesson without disruption once the class has started.

Our classes may take longer than the time stated. We can only estimate how long each class takes and we do not want to rush students. Please allocate additional time after the class in case they overrun.

We are a friendly team of carpenters, designers and builders that work in South East London. We have decided to open up our workshop and invite you in to learn a new skill and experience a unique day out. 

Richard, the company director, has a diploma in furniture making and joinery and teaches the courses with no more than 12 students at a time.
