About this event

Welcome to the world of Glass Fusing!

During this class I will share with you my signature techniques that I use to create my fused glass pieces. I will teach you how to cut glass, how to turn ideas into fused glass designs, work with enamels and powders and lift the lid on the glass fusing process.

Throughout the day you will have time to make smaller sample pieces to grow your confidence and learn the tips and tricks to make a final piece you are really proud of later on. We will spend some time looking at ideas of what you’d like to make and how you can achieve it in glass.

After lunch we will work on your final pieces – you can choose whether you’d like to make a set of coasters, or a wall hanging. If you’d like to make a wall hanging, you will have the option to purchase a frame to fit your piece perfectly directly from the studio. We will also spend some time discussing the options of how to display your work.

This class is inclusive of materials, tea, coffee and most importantly cake or biscuits! Classes start at 10am and are usually finished by 4pm sometimes 4.30pm – depending on how long it takes you to finish your masterpieces!

Once you have made your creations they will need to be fired in the kiln, and will be ready for collection the following week (by arrangement) – or I can send them to you for Postage and Packaging.

This class is suitable for anyone over the age of 14, however under 18’s must be accompanied by a participating adult. Flat, closed toe shoes must be worn, e.g.: trainers, and long hair tied back as unfortunately without them you will not be able to take part.
