Welcome to Intro to Gouache!
Join us for a fun and interactive workshop where you'll learn all about the wonderful world of gouache painting. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this event is perfect for artists of all levels. Class is taught by award winning artist Ann Mackowski, who has been using the medium for over 15 years!
We'll start by learning all about gouache--it's properties, how to mix it, dilute it, and layer it. Gouache is an opaque watercolour, so can be used like an acrylic or watercolour paint--making it very versatile. Once we're familiar with using the medium, we'll move on to creating your very own wall worthy work--inspired by early 20th century gouache enthusiasts such as Walter Crane, William Morris and Heussner & Co (We'll learn about these folks too). All materials are included--including a card frame for your wall-worthy final work!
Midway through there will be a tea break and a chance to mingle with your fellow art enthusiasts and grab light refreshments.
Located at 8 Hop Gardens, this in-person event will cover the basics of working with gouache, including techniques, color mixing, and more. Get ready to unleash your creativity and create beautiful works of art!
Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to explore the versatile medium of gouache. All levels are warmly welcomed!
