Introduction to the Sewing Machine
New years resolution?
Do you have a sewing machine that’s gathering dust?
A present given to you by a loved one?
or simply midway through a project and the idea of using a machine puts you off?
…well look no further, kick start a new hobby this 2017 and join us for an evening of 'introduction to sewing machine basics' with Talula
The workshop is aimed at Beginners with little to no experience on a sewing machine. The session will consist of:
Understanding the mechanics of a sewing machine
Setting up a machine
Winding a bobbin
Changing needles and feet
Basic maintenance and care of your machine
This class will be taught on our machines: the wonderful Husqvarna Viking Emerald 118, so you will not need to bring anything along. All the learning from the session will be transferable to your machine.
You can book using our 'early bird' rates up to 2 weeks prior to the session. Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. You can also book a class with our wonderful staff team and volunteers in person at the hub, 131 Wood st. Please note that cancellations up to 72 hours in advance are transferable to another date, after which the booking is non-transferable and non-refundable.
We also offer private sessions on a 1:1 basis and if you prefer with your own machine. Private lessons are £50 for a two hour session, timings/dates to be arranged between you and one of our tutors.
