About this event

Learn the original solo dance steps of the jazz & swing age - The Charleston, Suzie Q, Shorty George, Apple Jacks and more! These steps are outrageously fun and expressive, with a soundtrack of hot & swinging jazz that will inspire you to move your body. Your teacher is world famous flapper & dance historian Sharon Davis. This is a solo dance class, no partner needed. Booking is not essential, walk-ins are very welcome.

Level: This class is for beginners, zero experience needed.

Teacher: this class is taught by Sharon Davis – an award-winning swing & jazz dancer with over 20 years experience.

When? 7.00pm-8.00pm Tuesdays. Doors open 6.30pm, so come early to have a drink or warm up before class.

How much?

  • Walk-ins: £15 at the door (or take 2 classes that night for £25). We are cashless, so card/contactless payments only please.
  • Online Bookings: £15 per class or 1 class credit
  • Online Packages: if you enjoy the classes and decide to attend regularly, you can buy pre-paid packages of class credits through our website to get great discounts (4 classes for £50 or 10 classes for £100).

Is this a walk-in class or a course? This is a walk-in class, so start any time and drop in whenever you like. You don’t need to take these classes in any particular order and it’s no problem if you miss a week or attend irregularly. You can pre-book the class online or pay at the door (card/contactless only, no cash accepted).

How many classes should I take? Most beginners take this level class for 2-3 months before moving on to the higher level classes. After around 12 classes you will have a comprehensive education in the vintage jazz dance vocabulary.

Cancellation Policy: Due to administrative costs and the small capacity of our events, all bookings are non-refundable. If you cancel your booking more than 48 hours before the event, we can give you the balance as a credit to your account or in your name to use for a future event. Alternatively, if you contact us more than 48 hours before the event, we can transfer your booking to another person you name. No-shows and cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will not be refunded and no credit given. If you book through EventBrite, the EventBrite booking fee is non-refundable in all cases.
