Beginner II — Daily Conversations Made Simple 

This course will take place in the Richard Hoggart Building, Room TBC

Course Description 

Beginner II expands your vocabulary and conversational skills, enabling you to handle everyday activities such as shopping, eating out, talking about hobbies, and describing your family. You will learn how to form longer sentences and improve your listening through everyday topics. 

This Course is Ideal For: 

  • Learners who completed Beginner I 
  • Students who know basic pinyin and ~150–200 words 
  • Anyone wanting to improve practical everyday communication 

What You Will Learn: 

  • Vocabulary for food, clothing, prices, shopping, transport, and hobbies 
  • Asking for prices, ordering food, and making basic requests 
  • Describing personal preferences and daily routines 
  • Forming clearer and longer sentences 
  • Listening to real-life dialogues with improved accuracy 

By the End You Will Be Able To: 

  • Communicate confidently in shops, restaurants, and everyday social settings 
  • Ask and answer questions about hobbies, work, and family 
  • Describe your routine and personal information 
  • Understand short conversations at a natural pace
