Event description
Build a Mindfulness practice on a solid foundation. With a focus on good mental health, faith, and our daily walk with God.

About this Event

Cathy Ward from the Christian Mindfulness Network is a nationally accredited Mindfulness teacher, specialist Massage Therapist working with the way the body and mind work together, and Methodist Pioneer.

Have you been dotting around learning a bit here and a bit there, this app, and that website or the other youTube clip? Or is Mindfulness something you want to understand but never explored?

Wherever you are right now in your learning, get your foundation right and strong, learn and understand how to build a solid Mindfulness practice and explore how you can use those skills and tools within the Christian faith, and your daily walk with God, by using both traditional Christian meditations, and going with the flow of what God has for us today.

For me, my Mindfulness practice is my prayer life, and my prayer life is my practice, because my Mindfulness practice is the tools and skills of learning to still the mind. How often do you stop and sit down, but your mind just keeps going? How often have you stopped to pray and within moments your mind is somewhere else? Have you ever gone to bed and your mind is still at work, or your mind is still doing your childrens homework?

Learning Mindfulness is learning the tools and the skills of stilling the mind. In the Bible it says "Be still and Know that I am God" (Psalms 46 v10) , and in the stillness I have always found God. Learning Mindfulness changed my life because I learnt to stop in the middle of a busy world and just be with God.

Mindfulness is about learning to be in the present moment. Our minds can spend so much time replaying our past both good and bad, or dreaming about our future, when now is the only time we really have, and we are missing it. The present moment is the only time we can be in Gods presence, the only time we can feel God's power, and the only time we have to build that relationship of trust. I hear Christians say "I know God is faithful because when I look back over my life he has never let me down", and that is amazing. But how about, "I know God is faithful, and I feel him holding me right now in this difficult time, I feel his over whelming love and he won't let me down?"

The present moment is all we have.

Zoom retreats are a time when you get to create that quiet, safe, comfy space for yourself, just to be you, and be in God’s presence. A supported guided retreat, in a space you have created for you. Where you get to connect with others, but have the space to flow with what God has for you.

On this retreat our focus will be on good mental health, our faith, and our daily walk with God.

This is a live, small group session, where there will be teaching, practical meditation, and we make time for discussion and questions .

A 3 hour retreat with 3x10 minute breaks.

There are only 12 places so don’t take too long to book.
