Sun 8 January 2017, 14:00 – 17:00 GMT
A fantastic opportunity to sample ceramics in this free 3 hour session with RCA graduates.
This course is fully booked.
In this 3-hour class you will be introduced to the possibilities of working with clay. Through demonstrations and quick exercises you will learn the basics of handbuilding techniques; pinching, coiling and slab building, after which you will have the opportunity to play and apply these techniques to make your own own small ceramic sculpture. We will then fire and glaze the work, which can be collected later.
Materials and firings are included in the cost of the session.
Please wear an apron or old clothes.
Please note: Due to the time it takes for the clay to dry and be biscuit fired the sculptures will have a glossy white glaze applied by the tutor after the class. Work can be damaged during the firing process.
Collecting work: You will be notified when your work is ready to collect. Work made must be collected within 14 days after the session. Please make arrangements with your tutor. There will be 4-fixed pick up days/times. We are unable to store your work for longer than this time.
Please note you must be Aged 18+ to partake in this taster session.
